Hilariously, it never occurred to me to get actual glass cloches to use as cloches. Thanks for the tip facepalm. What a neat post I like the cheapest way I probably beat you out in that department though!!! I think I am beyond cheap!!! Love the Cloches, but how about that model! When started reading this post, I have a big dollar sign above my head already LOL. Over here, they are not popular items. It will be a rare chance to see one or even several selling here. Once I saw some in one shop. It was pretty expensive. The used bottle or container as you have suggested is a good replacement. I have never used cloche before. I find you have to bury some of it in order to keep them from blowing away. I have been using the garden plant containers 1 gal or so or smaller and covering my plants with them at night. I take a small bamboo stake and poke through the drainage hole in the bottom to the dirt so the wind will not blow it off. The problem with it is that when you try to grow ender lilies in it, your game crashes. I suggest adding a tool tip to the garden cloche to prevent this.

So, my suggestion is to, first off, nerf the cloche. First, it would have 6 slots for soil and seeds, of course they could be mixed and matched so you could have 3 for wheat and 3 for potatoes.

And even then, the growth rate for crops in the Cloche varies according to the crop - Ender Lillies, for example, take 40 times longer to grow than food crops.

Maybe the other resource crops just need to have their growth rates tuned down? The cloche will probably get nerfed a bit though. Multiple people seem to consider it too powerful. My thought behind this is that with immersive engineering you get the excavator for basically infinite supply of ores, automated workbenches and assemblers and metal presses for mass production. Having to get this mass production rolling so you can build garden cloches in bulk to guarantee a steady supply for the squeezer and fermenter would just add a fine end game goal to this mod. When I first tried out the Cloche with a few friends, we were surprised that it would run with only water as fertilizer.

The guys were all getting set to build a skeleton farm, too. Maybe what it needs is a much lower base speed and a much greater speed gain from non-water fertilizers?

Honestly for balance it might make more sense for it to go to 1. As far as I know it is almost impossible to limit a certain behaviour of a block to a certain game mode. I would have though it would be relatively easy, if perhaps not a good idea.
